Hello. Here is some shiz I’m digging this week.
- This epic post in livejournal community randompictures featuring a dozen or so Mario macro/memes/spin offs.
- A friend linked me to Bome’s Mouse Keyboard- a little midi software program you can install which has led me to mindlessly while away at least half an hour messing around with the different instruments. I should probably just get a keyboard again.
- The new single from Australia retro rock trio The Basics ‘With This Ship’ is gorgeous. Stream it from their MySpace.
- This interactive website Bloom is pretty neat as far as how-to-be-more-green websites go. It’s stuffed full of practical ways you can reduce your carbon emissions which you can keep track of.
- Because this blog is stupid and dumb, but I do actually have something articulate to say sometimes, you should visit Pop! Goes The Planet instead. It’s a collaborative effort and I’ll be posting more poignant thoughts about pop culture over there whenever I feel the inclination.
- My new favourite YouTube channel is hiimrawn. He just wants your approval, so give it to him. I approve.
- And in today’s news in the land of Oz, a Queensland private school administers the fair and loving punishment of the cane to their wayward students (but don’t worry, the parents approve, and they pray with them afterwards). Elsewhere, university students are marrying young so they can finally be declared independent by Centrelink and get the full ‘living away from home’ allowance. Currently due to a backwards, fucked up rule you can’t be ‘independent’ and get the living away from home rate of Youth Allowance until you’re 25, so these people have found a loophole of getting around it… getting hitched!
- This music video for N.A.S.A.’s ‘Gifted’ is entirely constructed of awesome! The song features Kanye West, Lykke Li and Santogold
